1. Gettting cold & wet.
2. Getting sandy and wet (although this one might go first . . . ).
3. Having family pictures taken.
We haven't had an actual family picture photo session (aside from mandatory Family Reunion pictures) since Lydia was 18 months old. Getting five kids and two adults color-coordinated, cute, freshly-pressed, and there to wherever you're shooting (how ironic that it's called a photo "shoot"--I'm usually wishing someone would shoot me before it's over . . .) is not my idea of a good time. Also, trying to schedule anything with my busy husband is "pret-near" impossible, as Mom would say. However, I grudgingly understand the principle behind family pictures--they're a special treasure for grandparents and posterity. So when Seth told me he had arranged a family picture session (which completely shocked me) with a seminary student/photographer, I realized it was now or never.
And it was painless! Aside from Gabriel falling asleep in his clothes and wetting the bed in them just minutes before we had to be there, it was really quite easy. The cute girl who took our pictures was happy and fun, and the kids loved all the attention. And here you have the result--enjoy it now, because it may never happen again.

Oh my goodness, when I saw the first picture on this post I gasped and immediately made Jonathon come look and then I read the post to him and we "ooo'd" and "ahh'd" together (and you made Jonathon laugh out loud at some of the things you said. That's a big deal coming from him). Seriously though, these pictures are so cute! What adorable babies you have and I love the color/style theme! AND I can't believe you wore a hat. I don't think I've ever seen you in a hat--cute cute. You have our stamp of approval.
Yes, the one and only time I will every wear a hat, and Seth & Lyd had to beg me . . .

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Those are the cutest pictures EVER! I can't believe Eleni opened her eyes! Your girls are so shockingly beautiful. And your boys are so handsome. The clothes you picked out are so cute, too! Love you guys and miss you. Merry Christmas!
I just want to know what I have to do to get a print of these photos. I will pay good money! I especially love the picture of all the children beaming. What bright little spirits!
Your pictures are so cute!! I love Eleni's hair. And Evie is getting so big! And YOU, my dear, are just lovely. I can't believe you got so many pictures of everyone looking cute at once. A true accomplishment! I looked at your header picture and thought, Seth and Jessica sure have a lot of kids! Then I realized we have the same. It's a lot. Wow. :)
